Located in the upscale Pavilions Shopping Center in Sacramento, MB is a premier Nor Cal shopping destination.

In addition to an extensive roster of contemporary designers, MB offers thoughtfully curated jewelry & accessories & a handful of in-house lines. We sell what we love... & we love a good shape, black & white, & a wrist full of jewelry. We covet wares that are timeless & hand-crafted.

Though we are always interested in the latest trend, we don’t believe in following any fashion rules; we believe an outfit is most interesting when it enhances the wearer’s look and point of view. At Madam Butterfly, we take a personal approach to retail. As a second generation, brick & mortar store, we pride ourselves on customer service & the long lasting relationships we have built with our clients.

To complete the customer experience, Madam Butterfly offers a growing range of personal wardrobe & lifestyle styling services.

MB TEAM

Madam Butterfly was opened in 1980 (yes…1980) by Denise Masunaga, who built her store and reputation with class, passion & a well curated point of view.  She is the epitome of a cool girl. If you are shopping, she’ll likely still greet you & somehow already know your style - helping you find that one piece you didn’t know you needed. Her sense of fashion is effortless - her outfit of the day usually consisting of a mix of “archival” pieces & something she pulled from the rack that morning.

Madam Butterfly predates Denise’s two daughters, Kiki & Allie who are now active in running the store. The sisters grew up in fashion retail & have taken Madam Butterfly though a few evolutions, always staying true to its community of customers. 

Allie is the ultimate mom-treprenuer. She manages the store's operations & MB's growing range of client services. She is the store’s valued multi-tasker – the one building new fixtures & displays, while putting together look books for a client, while managing the MB team. 

Sister, Kiki is the creative behind the MB brand, always with a new “project”, coming soon to the store. A nomad at heart, MB’s one of kind accessories & handcrafted wares are a collection from Kiki’s wanders. Her style is felt through MB's racks of effortless maxis & simple silhouettes. If Kiki is not on a road trip somewhere sunny, she’s probably offering you a glass of wine.

MB is a family. Small business is in our DNA. As a family brand - our sisters, neighbors & clients provide the inspiration for the look & lifestyle that is Madam Butterfly.
